| Well done Neil, Mark and i thought the comp was fantastic. I know that Mark would have left on just as much of a high from getting 1 pin against a pro, but it's because Neil you organised the comp in this manner that Mark was able to take part and win with his left. All respect to Neil, that my husband is progressing in this sport, because up here in Scotland he would still have remained a novice for god knows how long. The comps run by Neil are what has driven my hubby to train like a beast and finally it's all paying off ie: Novice-Pro, Pro to British Champion KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK NEIL | |

| Thanks Angie, Mark has been improving constantly this year and did EXTREMELY well at ARM WARS "LEGACY" where I was really pleased for him and his performance in the British in the BAF format just capped it off. Guys who are dedicated and train hardest deserve to win and usually end up getting that success. Mark is an example of that, good for him Cheers Neil | |

| WELL WELL WELL After a ding dong a c**t and a Ba****d me And the Natural are pals again but i do have to answer his sarcastic post First point is, i thought the question of the topic was to give opinions of the day and how to improve things and iam guessing others did due to there response to, but since these comments you seem to have gone on a major world war 11 defensive when there is clearly no need to you have over reacted greatly and by doing so opened up a debate better left to pms. the committe well to have one or not that seems to be the question and you seem to be dead against them,i understand you had a tough time with them previously but hey 10years has passed and theres eager new blood that is willing to help, you have built a house and rightly so you want to live in it but you could always rent a bit of space to people who really want to help,i will as i told you earlier collect subs, write articles, report matches in a make shift mag.We only have to look at this forum, altho it isnt a BAF website its the most important tool at our disposal and is the main reason for all the comps being so healthy attended es[ecially this years British FACT!!! so lets use this help its not a threat its a team that needs to work together in a already great group of persons. THE WEIGH INNS well i really dont give a monkeys i weighed 99.6kg on the night and on day 103kg that suits me and the easy way sort that is nobody weighs before sloted times simple!!! Has far as me being at the forfront of and making decesions i really dont no were you are going with that but i am no power monga even tho i do have leadership skills running 10,000 seat venues and looking after far more important people than Beckham Has for THE MOOCH i dont agree or share there views i hope this is the end of this crap and postive responses will be met with enthuism [/quote] OK Paul, Glad we had the telecon yesterday but to clarify a few FUNDAMENTAL POINTS real quick. Firstly I don't hate committees, I honestly couldn't care less if there is a committee or not seriously. I didn't go on a World War II defensive mate, I went on a World War II PISSED OFF & FRUSTRATED rant. The British Nationals and its format is NOT the issue...........THATS WHY I GET PISSED OFF. I HAVE TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT POLITICS on a UK, Pan Europe and World scale, thats what which ever poor f*cker is elected President of the BAF has to do. FACT. I can't just say oh FUCK IT. Try to imagine your teenage daughter was on drugs, you'd hate it, you wouldn,t wanna have to deal with it & would wish the problem would just go away BUT you would have to deal with it regardless...well BAF is my drugged up Daughter Do I enjoy having Politics from Armwrestling in my life... DO I FUCK....I like Blow Jobs, watchin UFC, Motorcycle racing & Indian Food...............BUT I have no option but to do what I do. I appreciate your offer of assistance by, writing articles, reporting on matches in a make shift mag (I actually think that would work far better on the BAF website with maybe with a link to here or even the Facebook page idea as that would negate printing costs THOSE things are great but they are not where the time and effort REALLY need to go. You wrote "you have built a house and rightly so you want to live in it but you could always rent a bit of space to people who really want to help" & it always seems that people have this misconception that being the President of the BAF is this big bonus, like there is some benefit in terms of status, you wrote "I am no power monger" BUT MATE there IS NO POWER attached to the BAF, no benefit no status rewards, just hard work and a guarantee that when anyone has a gripe to air you will get it. I want to see the BAF be the best it can be & as I said before if people want a committee & want to be on that committee thats fine by me whether I am on it or not.....SERIOUSLY. Even now when people talk of getting the committee together, who do they expect to do that......... I am guessing that would be me, personally I would firstly think that an election would be the route via e mail possibly. BUT the point I am making is there is a reason why I have no turned down the roll of EAF President TWICE & WAF World President FOUR TIMES........I don't want to be either one of them cause I know what its like being BAF President.I am Happy to assist IF the Armwrestlers want me to and they like what I do then thats fine & I try my best in the roll I am in if not then thats also fine, I will simply get back to focussing on my own training & the ARM WARS Super Series and I'd come along to compete in BAF events when that was possible. My Status in Armwrestlling has only suffered since I began the BAF duties in truth as my focus was no longer on myself as an Armwrestler and the people I trained. I got cracking in the Role in 2000 after being elected late in 1999, at that time I was one of THE VERY BEST MIDDLEWEIGHTS ON EARTH PERIOD. British Champion Right / Left & Overall (weighing 80-85kg), 2 x EAF European Champion, 2 x WAF World Champion, 3 x EAF Silver Medallist, 6 x WAF Silver Medallist etc etc etc. Its very fair to say there was a shift in my focus at that time BUT I'm also happy to redress the balance and focus on ARM WARS SS, my family and becoming a FREAK at the table myself once again. I'm very relaxed about that guys trust me. My status and respect was earned AS BRITIAIN'S BEST ARMWRESTLER and I've no issues at all becoming that man again.......loosing BAF responsibilities would only assist that. Cheers Neil | |

| It seems this is a subject that has been bubbling under the surfice for a while. I personally don't think we need a committee or that we need to replace Neil as president, would anyone else actually put the effort in to the BAF that Neil has, or give up so much of their time to organise the national championships? I think not. It's clearly a massive job. I do think however that a structure of regional directors could be put in place for the purpose of running things at regional level, with the role of helping clubs organise local comps, promoting the sport and raising awareness. I would happily take this role for the Anglia area and i will be re starting my club in Cambridge at a new venue. As far as regions go we could split Britain into several ares. Here are my proposals Scotland, North West North East Midlands/ West Anlglia/ East London and South east South West
That's 7 regions all reporting to the BAF president and we would each have to take a turn at WAF/ EAF conferences ( I think Nez would like that one), be responsible for supplying 1 or 2 refs for the British, collecting membership fees for the BAF and ensuring that local clubs are running monthly novice comps with an annual regional championships. We would be the first point of contact for anyone wishing to try AW and can give advice on setting up clubs and helping provide some initial training for those just starting up.
We are the only people that can make this sport grow into the monster it should be but we do have to put the work in instead of sitting on our hands and moaning about what's wrong.

| A good day gentlemen
Speaking as a neutral and having read what has been noted... Concerning the attack on THE MOOCH and his posts... I am taking no sides here, but in a country which is pro active with regards to free speech, let me put forward the following... Whilst some have been very fair in their responses, in regards to some of the others...from the way these replies have been structured, the impression that seems to be given is the leadership is a ‘dictatorial’ one...well that’s fine if that is the direction the sports wants to take. Secondly, the whole point of having a forum is to have a debate. There seems to be some kind of problem here. If somebody makes a point or raises an issue, the response (s) given in some of the replies are outrageously over the top...like the person in charge is trying to crush any resistance... I believe we are not in China or North Korea, and people are allowed to voice their opinions without being tried as it if were for MUTINY...or maybe some people see it as that...that armwrestlers are on a ship that will never come into port, and will never see what else the world has to offer... If that is that case, I do not understand why...
Secondly, there are too many people jumping on the bandwagon. As soon as the leader (whom I’m sure is a very nice person) attacks another person whom says anything out of line with his thoughts, there are then too many people trying to gain medals/points and a** kissing. George Bush and poodle come to mind. This is a common symptom of when the power is all structured towards one person... They are too many afraid to criticise in fear of being frowned upon in the sport, so even if they think something is wrong, they will not voice their opinion. If fact, maybe they may have already got to the stage where they don’t know how to criticise...with the exception when a point is made towards their leader and the words are jumped upon like a pack of hounds... What on earth is this savagery all about...? In Europe, you have the European presidency rotated in order to create harmony. Whilst a splendid job may be occurring in the BAF, sometimes change/a rotational policy is not a bad thing to give others a chance to drive their passions and how they would like to take the sport. Now, in posting my thoughts, I fully expect a swarm of people condemning me about how dare I voice my opinions as a neutral, just as the other guy MOOCH has done... If this is the case, could those concerned please refrain from blaspheming... Finally, people in the sport question why it has not spread to the many when it is seems we have a ‘closed shop,’ approach and sometimes a gang culture mentality taken by a few.
If nobody ever criticised, we could never learn from our mistakes... And to my knowledge nobody is perfect.
Just my thoughts...and goodwill to all people.
Jerry

Dan Nobody has said Neil should not be president nor has anbody suggested that and i will not have anyone trying to turn this into something it isnt The topic asked for opinions they were given and for some reason it isnt liked everybody says BAF is armwrestlers well if thats the case there is no i in team Also nobody said the BAF needed fixing Neil asked for OPINIONS he got them!!! what is the problom with that? tell me? its really starting to get pathetic and childish and if people are going to start picking sides due to friendship or otherwise it really is a dark day for armwrestling in genral. If your happy with everything and dont honestly have your own opinions thats fine, and if you dont have a say then thats fine to, and your happy for 1 person make all the decesions thats fine to, but like many others do, dont fucking winge at comps get it out in open and dont be a closet puller. Also Your ideas are very good exactly the same as Neil spoke to me about yesterday almost word for word mmm sandy shaw 1966 eourovision comes to mind its a great idea and i would love to see it happen as i tried quite sucessfully in the early 2000s, with at that point i had the biggest club in the UK Side note myself and Neil have been friends for a long time and have travelled the world over we have had my odd words because were similar in thus were outspoken i have love and respect for him as a friend and puller but diffrent people diffrent thoughts, and thats that as Neil would say END OF

CHEERS mate it does seem as if anyone goes against THE ORDER they are made to feel like an outcast and not bother posting there concerns but i could be wrong, but after the tirade i got well,it does seem like its my way or the highway attitude and maybe my posts could bring some changes for the better NOW BEFORE all the a--elickers go on he rampage these are just opinions and nothing more thats why i will remain anonymous plus im glad that neil does not run this forum as i would have been banned by now this is a country of free speech and not a dictatorship i will help in anyway poss if i can to promote this sport as i love it

| ARSE LICKERS!!!!!!! Lets get something VERY clear MOOCH. The reason i've responded in the manner i chose is simply because you've chosen to join a forum were everybody knows one another, start a debate that has obviously rubbed people up the wrong way and to add insult to injury you've had the disrespect to do all this at someone elses request and hide in the shadows. You can talk all you like, you can throw as many accusations as you like, you can even get as fucking lippy as you like, it's easy to do when nobody knows who you are. Well frankly, i don't give a fuck who you are, if you want others to respect your comments Stig, don't hide behind them and don't be someone's puppet. You've got a cheeck to call anyone an arse licker, you've obviously got your head so far up someone elses arse you can see clearly. It's good to have debates on the forum but subjects which may cause animosity should be done via private messaging or perhaps a phone call. Non of this shit will move a.w. forward. |
