BRITISH NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS DATE & VENUE SET

Hi Guys,

I can confirm that The B.A.F. British Novice Championships 2010 will be held back at The Crofters Hotel, Cabus, Nr. Garstang, Lancashire, on Sunday the 14th of November.

Weigh-in & Registration for the event will be between 1pm & 2pm at the venue, with Pulling set to commence on the Right Arm from 2.30pm sharp.

Weight classes offered on both the Right & Left Arm will be as follows :

-70kg Men
-80kg Men
-95kg Men
+95kg Men
Ladies Open Class

Entry fee for this event will be £20 and there will be Trophies for the Top 3 finishers in each individual weight division.

REMEMBER NO JEANS & ONLY SPORTS SHOES MUST BE WORN AT THIS EVENT.

Is the format going to be single pin to move forward or best of three? I'm guessing it's two losses and you're eliminated?

I understand it'll be this format because of the uncertainty of numbers
participating.
If the turnout is greater than anticipated, will it be subject to change

I'd love to do the British Novice this year, but I already committed to pulling Peter and Keith at Rossendale 3 which as everyone knows is only two weeks after the British Novice.

Without giving too much away , the problem lies with the fact Peter and Keith are both considerably bigger guys than me, so for me to be as competitive as possible in both super matches, I don't want to have to diet down to 80kg two weeks before for the Novice and also get all bust up in what's bound to be a really tough competition.

Maybe a miracle will happen and I'll be close enough to 80kg to enter the novice....

You've got 2 weeks of total recovery and enough time to put a few kilo
back on.
On top of that, that trophy would look nice on your mantelpiece.
I think your in with a good shout this year m8.

Good to see this comp is going ahead after Neil wasn't going to run it due to poor numbers at the last few British pros hope the boys turn out for this one too

I expect to see a few pro's at this event showing their support, especially
as quite a few novices, friends and family showed their support and
took part in the pro's.
