Hi Nick i want to ask you what is the best advice you can give any armwrestlers. i have been wrestling many years and the one thing i know is to still listen and learn as things are constantly changing. i know your are one of the most technical instructors out there and i personally do listen to the advice you give and thought you can assist them on their armwrestling. it would make a fab page Smile

Hi Champ there are a few ways to apply a toproll however i would say the best way to train the correct muscles is to get on the table and apply the move as this strengthens the hand arm etc in the right area, many individuals have tried to train and you may feel stronger however nothing is the same as armwrestling Smile

Nick,
There are many parts to the complete hand strength package, so it's a tough question to answer quickly. I could list a couple of hundred exercises.

But I'd say that cupping strength and wrist strength could be the most important.

I'd say that the plateloader can be too easy to cheat on.

Hand Grippers are fine for crushing strength, but it's best to use the Vulcan Hand Gripper, as this is adjustable, and you can micro load with rubber bands.

Maybe it would be useful to set up a time and I could answer questions in the Chat Room.

as you know nick i have ony just started back, i don t go mega heavy on the weights , but do a lot of strict dumbell work, emphasis on strict its far too easy to load the bar up and throw it around but at the end of the day your only cheating yourself. i also like pull ups and as many hand exercises i can think of. captains of crush grippers my favourite. and of course best of all armwrestle.

thats funny tom ever time i have puylled u on a table u always hit , you friging love it mate - and why not its a mega weapon, think there a time and a place to train hits , but for me they must still be trained, on pullys or maybe hiting some one thats holding u with two arms , hit strength gos fast when u training it hard - so its not something that u can not fit in, just be careful not to hurt your arm.

When training your hit, do you put a time limit for the pin. eg. if it takes longer than a second to hit the pad (or complete the move) would you say the weight is too heavy.

Number 1, a good hook is no good without a strong wrist or else someone will open you hand and your top rolled... so get ya hand and wrist mega to start with ( mine used to be soggy !!!... but not anymore)
The best excersie by far for me is to use the bar i have concreted into 2 walls, and hang from it with hooked over wrists, and a rucksack full of weights... starting quite light for about 30 seconds a set , working upwards over an hour with a good 5-10 min rest between sets.. ending with a very heavy bag untill failier....
