For arm wrestling, use a plate loader or an adjustable gripper. If you fancy buying the ironmind grippers just start with a no1.

I've closed the ironmind No3 before right handed (and so have many other arm wrestlers) and it doesn't translate into hand control on the table that well, as you're working your crushing strength in an almost closed fist position, not the open hand strength.

Thick bar work / rolling thunder deadlifts seem to be much better to strengthen the fingers when in that L shape in a match.

they are good for me for training your bottom two finger if someone was trying to toproll you that is what there going to attack your bottom two finger also i do a lot of holding them shut for as long as you can also

I'd agree that they train the smaller fingers pretty well.

better get the no 1 or no 1.5.. for starter..

I have the set from 1 - 4 including the halfs but after speaking to David horne I dont think that I will be focusing on them as much as I have. Closing them is entirely different to gripping someones hand on the table.

Thanks Owen, i think i'll get them anyway. I know hand and finger strength is important and although the grippers positioning is different from the hand position when pulling, there's not many ways of building strength in the lower two fingers. I would hate to lose to someone's 'low hand top roll', just because i didn't train those fingers.
