If you are training your whole body I'd say get a power rack and ultility bench, both indispensible if you are doing heavy weights on exercises like Squats, Bench, Shoulder press etc

What about accessories. I can think of gloves, belt and padded arm straps to prevent the plates scratching my forearms.

Forget straps, if you can't lift without them then you need to work your grip, essentials would be any thick handle bars, rolling thunder, Kettle bells, rope, sandbag with up to 100kg of sand in smaller 20kg bags, heavy duty resistance bands, standing preacher bench, chin up bar with hammer grip facility, go to
http://www.ampro.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=96&cat=24&page=2 for a great chin up bar. A climers finger board, http://www.mountain-intelligence.co.uk/1390/products/Metolius_Slim_Gym.aspx, other than that. Good training partners.

I paid £35 for a simialr bar from ebay. Top class, I also bought my finger grip climbing things from the xscape at braehead for £40.

There is an additional coma on that last link, if you remove that in the address bar then you get to see the link that Dan added.

Sorry Mark, thought you meant lifting straps geek Embarassed
Also, get a judo belt and tie it into a loop, then wrap it over your hand and wrist for rotations.
I'll post a picture of what i mean.

That's cool Dan. As for the judo belt, that's a great idea,
a lot easier than finding a ratchet strap. afro

Personally, I wouldn't bother with any of these, I've never really scratched or cut myself with the standard platex (which all have rounded edges), and gloves actually make it harder to do big heavy lifts. As for a lifting belt, from what I can gather experts don't recommend them for various reasons (worth a Google search).

Get a rolling thunder handle equivalent from Ted and a loading pin, and find a way of doing hammer chins with your dipping belt, sorted Cool

I'm grateful for the offer Dean but i'm trying to encourage those who train with me to stay, not scare them off. Laughing Laughing Laughing afro

Thanks for the input Leon, i'll certainly check out google.
I've got to consider all types of training methods as i'm restricted from doing certain ones. afro
