Sarah explains:
I'd like to share with you some news and my thoughts and opinions.
I'm sad and I hate the Swedish system and federation. It turned out I'm going to miss the most important championships of the year this year, 2013. European- and World Armwrestling Championships. I missed the Swedish Nationals, where one has to win or place 2nd to qualify for the team to represent the country. The reason I missed it was because I did an ARMWRESTLING-TV-job in Japan. In other words, I was promoting our sport.
It does not matter that I won double golds at the European- and World Championships 2012, only 5 months ago, undefeated - which no Swede has ever done before. No one takes that into account, at least not in my own country. I knew the Swedish system but that doesn't make me think different. The Swedish system and armwrestling federation leave a lot to be wished.
I think my double-world-golds 5 months (2012) ago should make me qualified for this year's championships (2013). As far as I know, any other sport as well as any other country would make an exception in such a case.
And I do not only mean myself, but everyone who won a world title the year before in ANY SPORT!
This decision only proves that our Swedish federation does not care about our results, nor about the sports level in armwrestling. It will for sure affect my motivation to continue doing this. Maybe I should start doing something else. Or maybe it means I should take a break. I don't know.
I'm still going to compete in super matches and professional armwrestling tournaments.
Never give up what you love doing. Be happy.
