I recognised him from last year and knew he was good, but could not remember if he had won the comp before. Or I would have said something myself. Apart from this small hicup, I thought it was a great days armwrestling all round, and as Stan say's, with no injuries. . . . . .

Hi folks, I was just wondering how often the referee's decision is overruled or changed in these competitions, it happened 3 times on the trot on Saturday?

Hi Yoof (sorry if I know you I can't remember the nickname)

There were actually no instances of a Referee being over ruled during the weekends event.

I can only assume that you are mistaken or alternatively that you may not be familiar with the rules of the sport.

Hi, Yoof. I know the incident you are talking about. My decision on the first pull was to award a pin but an elbow foul was called that i hadn't spotted (my priority on that was to ensure no one broke their arm), the second was a foul given by myself, then the line ref called elbow foul on the other competitor which meant a re start and both fouls cancelled out. Then i called elbow foul and awarded a pin, however the guy i called a foul on was not on a foul previously (coincidental foul by both on the previous pin) this was pointed out to me so i called the guys back for another match, which was won within the rules, with no fouls or dangerous positions.
At the start of the comp, the rules were gone over, including the use of a line ref. The line ref's job is to do the same thing as a refs assistant in football and spot things the ref doesn't, inform them of infractions and keep things fair.
Sorry i missed fouls but i thought it more important to focus on keeping everyone from breaking their arms in dangerous position, the line ref took care of elbows.

Has for what's going on now this is my take I consider myself to be a professional armwrestler I have travelled the world and won and been consistent through the years my take on novice and pro really differ from most I can honestly say I consider there to be about 20 pullers in the UK able to be called pro even tho were all armatures in reality,I won't mention names but I see this to be true in my eyes the level in this country is mediocre at best in the main part and only very few compete on the biggest scale.

Some people rise to stardom far quicker some take more time so to use a title as a line draw is wrong depending on the toughness of the class common sense needs to used,example at the weekend Bradley got a great 2nd had tough pulls with Minte with all due respect Bradley is a novice and will continue to be for the near future IMO so Minte who should now be pro IMO not also lost to a novice hmmmm things don't add up novice should not beat pro armwrestlers end off!!

Another example was Bloom he easily played with his nearest rivals and has also given pros a tough time thus earning his pro card

Also the big guy from Manchester who entered his first company and won is he now a pro?? Would you wish to see him roll with Gary Ricketts Marvin big Stephen Alan?? Again common sense needs to be used and use the rules loosely but more of a bench mark.

Nobody likes to argue more than myself and Neil but on this occasion I don't think we should publicly flog him,maybe just a few pms saying do your job better hahaha

I agree with Paul on that one SO I think at Armegedon, New Year Cup and British Nationals Elite Armwrestlers should pay £25 Pro/Novice £15....
