| I agree with you 100% m8 that Nick should be included in the 'hall of fame' for his outstanding contribution and personal achievements in the sport as most definitely should some of the individuals you've mentioned. However it is incredulous to assume under any circumstance that a novice should be included in the hall of fame. If this was the format of the british hall of fame, then no-one would take it seriously and it would be a discredit to all those who have earned their place there. "If someone had put my name forward for this, at this stage in my career, i'd think they were taking the piss". |

| I also would like to see Nick in the hall of fame for his achievements over the years for armwrestling in the uk Mark, if someone mentioned my name to go in the hall of fame i also would think they were taking the piss, but when i read Adrians post that is clearly not the case mate, he was stating the people who Nick has got into the sport novice and pro | |

| No worries Mark, to be honest in a year or two i would be happy if i could call myself a pro armwrestler but i think ive got a long way to go to get where some of the pros mentioned are today. Seriously though i could see you doing really well for the sport and in the sport in the years to come. | |

| Thanks Peter but i'm just glad to be able to take part again in a sport i've loved for over 15 years. I'm of the same mind as yourself and would be happy if i could just turn pro. What comes after that is just a bonus. You've got about 10 years to play with that i don't, so don't count yourself out at this early stage m8. |

A poll is the logical way to go m8 but as for not including yourself in it, that, with all due respect must be for the voters to decide. As a former british champion and as an individual with the serious potential to take the championship again it would be down right wrong for your name not to appear on that list. Your opinion is that it shouldn't, others opinions may differ. |

| Fair enough m8, i completely understand where your coming from but just bare in mind the number of arm wrestlers in this country, from novice - pro and out of ALL those guys and girls where you place on that list. For some people fame can be attained by the level of respect others have for you as an arm wrestler, not only by achievements. As an example, Jimmy White should most certainly be included in the british snooker players hall of fame(most would agree), yet he hes never won a world championship tournament or ever ranked as number 1 in britain. Hope you see my point m8. |

That's a fair enough assessment of who should make the hall of fame but if it's open to everyone to vote on, then how can one be sure that EVERYONES vote has NOT be influenced by other factors? i.e. respect, friends, idols, contributions to the sport or personal feelings that some individuals just deserve to be there?
Bottom line is, 'one can't'. As long as this fact remains people will vote for there personal favourites be it acceptable or not. Perhaps then a poll would not be as practical as first thought, maybe there's another way. (Perhaps the ranking table) |

| your right i poll would not work , were not speaking about are fav pullers , or who as done a lot for the sport , were taking about are best arm wrestlers , iv asked all the lads in there and they all say the same they hav got to be the best we have had in britsh arm wrestling so far, to get in u have to have won british MULTIPLE times and have pulled at top level , now i use me as a e.g and lets say andy barker as a e.g only
i have not pulled at andy barkers level , hes had world silver medal 2 times , won MULTIPLE british titles pulled all over the world and for the like of me to be in would make the hall of fame false.
so lets not hear about what people have done for the sport or how much respect people have or fav puller, thats the hall of who people like .
black and white u can say yes i should be in there from results, ste kerlew he said look terry i should be in there and hes right results say he should, mine dont and there a few name iv been asks to put in good pullers and i have loads of respect for them guys , but there not on the same level. | |

| Fair play then Terry, it may still be possible to do a poll as long as the parameters have been laid. i.e. people's selections MUST have a minimum amout of british titles, say 3 for example. or their selection must have been placed in europe, say top 6 or at the worlds, top 10 perhaps If the voters are aware of the criteria beforehand they will know themselves if their choices fall into in such category. If not they then know beforehand that their choice wont be considered. |
