World Challenge 2009 (armwrestling)

Welcome to the biggest armwrestling competition for women in the world! 8th of March, 2009 Lisebergshallen, Gothenburg, SWEDEN

We fly out tomorrow morning.
Elizabeth is very excited, and is as ready as she can be for this contest. But this is a massive comp, and possibly beyond Elizabeth's capabilities at this time. But it will be an amazing learning curve!

This will be my 3rd time to Sweden and I really like the place. It's what the UK should be like!
Think there will be snow over the weekend, which my daughter is happy about!

This is what I put on my site a few hours ago.

We've been back about an hour an a half.

Elizabeth did brilliant, in the Right hand!

With this 3rd place in the 80+ class she then qualified for the ‘Second Chance round’ which is to go against the 12 x 2nd and 3rd place athletes from the 6 classes. The top 3 from this lot would join the 6 class winners in the final showdown for the cash.
Elizabeth had 5 more pulls, winning 3, and came 4th, just being pipped by Malin Kleinsmith for this spot, who then carried on into the Final and got 3rd.

Elizabeth is very pleased about her right arm performance, and the less said about her left the better!
Everything went wrong on the left arm, just one of those days!

I really like Sweden, and Gothenburg is a beautiful city. Also what makes the trip worthwhile is meeting great people, and there were plenty of those.

We'll get some pics up later this week, although my camera was acting up.
