PostSubject: ARMWRESTLING ARCADE MACHINES ARE THEY TAKEN SERIOUSLY?   ARMWRESTLING ARCADE MACHINES ARE THEY TAKEN SERIOUSLY? EmptySun 22 Jul - 23:30

There are a number of different armwrestling arcade machines around, and do these have a part to play in bringing armwrestling to a wider audience. Many people take up the sport after experiencing these devices, myself included as they are very addictive if you can beat them! Does the British Armwrestling Federation endorse or approve any of these devices?as how much like the real thing are they? However i feel that they should be rated by the British Armwrestling Federation as to how good they really are.

All they do is side pressure - no wrist movement but great fun - I remember them as a youth at my local superbowl. They got banned as I think a few people broke their arms on them.

Ones I remember were: http://content.artofmanliness.com/uploads/2009/03/arm_wrestling_amusement_machine_coney_island.jpg

I see your in St Albans - we are in MK if you fancy popping over ? We train on Mondays 8:30 - 10pm at Atlas Fitness in Wolverton.

Regarding getting banned, that was in JAPAN! with a machine that was faulty,In reality there is no threat of harm at all from any of these devices.and the one that got me into this was the STRONGMAN has anyone seen this?

Sorry to sound negative, but these machines have no real value in terms of technique/ strength, the difference between being a good armwrestler and beating one of those machines is about the same as saying you are an amazing guitarist because you scored 100% on Purple Haze on guitar hero.
