Fair points, but yes, in terms of a ranking system there will be pullers that dominate their class. The rest of us will be fighting for our places in the marching order if it so happens that Neil is king of the 100's then so be it, you, Nick, Stan, myself and everyone else will all be aiming for as high a place as possible. We then have a ranking for best open weight puller, so the guys who are dominating their respective classes have an element of competition. Anyone who thinks they are improving can challenge the puller that is placed higher than they are under strict weight conditions, ie no more than 1kg difference in weight. With both pullers having to weigh in on the same scale at the same time, and competing in a best of 6 format. A win moves you above that opponent, a draw means you stay the same and you can only challenge for the place above you, so you can measure your progression through the guys you beat. Obviously ths open weight class has no restrictions on weight and a win in that has no bearing on your position in your own weight devision.. Kind of like the Premier league and Champions league. The novice guys have their own division and the top 2 at the end of the year get promoted to the pro's. No main draw comps count towards ranking places, but a supermatch can be arranged at any event like Steve and Stuart did recently. It gives everyone a solid idea of where they stand in terms of level and can also be used as a seeding system for the nationals which would be like the FA cup to use another football analogy.
