Elizabeth is back in hospital.
Elizabeth has gradually got worse, feeling very poorly and very sore. So today I got the doctor out, and he sent her to hospital, and they have re-admitted her.
After a scan, they have found she has a hematoma in the right side of her abdomen, and has an infection too.

So she is in the best place.

Been with Elizabeth all day.
Her blood level has been going down gradually and is now 7.4, so she is having a blood transfussion in the hour.
They are hoping this and the new antibiotics to fight the infection will pick her up. Only the blood tests tomorrow will show if they have.

... She is on plenty of morphine, guzzling it down.

Fingers crossed for a turn around.

I am sure everything will be fine mate

Thanks everyone, really appreciated!

She had the blood transfussion last night, and this brought her blood levels to 9.3, which is better.

The bad news is the infection is still growing, and so she is having intrevenous Anti-biotics now, and is having a CT scan soon, for more info, to decide wether to put a drain tube in, or operate on the hematoma.

Thanks guys; I needed the jee-up from you. I feel pretty knackered.

I haven't been on the board for a while & I was delighted to read of your new Baby but very sorry to learn that Elizabeth has been taken ill.

The CT scan showed that the hematoma is 12cm big and is the source of the infection, and at least nothing else was a problem.
She is on Intravenious antibiotics, painkillers, etc.

They are going to drain the hematoma on Monday, so hopefully it will be good news from then.

Once again, this is what the sport of grip, armwrestling and strongman are about - the comradship!

Good news for a change. But we had to ask and pursue them to do the bloods at the weekend. God knows what's wrong with the hospital. Anyway, made some noise and we got done. Like they have a effing break at the weekend!

Blood count staying at 9.3 after transfussion - good.
But more importantly, infection count in blood down to 80. 10 is about normal, 200 very poorly. She was 180, so a big improvement, and shows that the new IV antibiotics are working.

Still going to drain the hematoma tomorrow.

First time that there is been good news, and you have to pester them for it. Haven't the medical proffesion heard about positive thoughts. In our game we know about positive thoughts from ourselves, and jeeing up from others. And how much this can elevate you!

Though I don't know you or Elizabeth personally just wanted to pass wishes of a healthy and speedy recovery for Elizabeth.
I know how worrying and frustrating it can be when someone you love is poorly - had the experience when the 'mighty one' took I'll. Keep on at those Doc's - it's the only way to get anywhere! I also know and appreciate how the thoughts and good wishes of others keep up your spirits when the chips are down.

Many thanks, and I still remember Paul's time like it was yesterday. Elizabeth is poorly, but Paul was really poorly, and you must have been wooried sick. I have lost 10k in bodyweight in not quite 2 weeks! It's good for getting into lighter weight classes

Elizabeth got the hematoma drained yesterday, and the drain is left in there to drain the remaining blood and abcess. The doc says there was about 500ml of blood and abcess in there, and over 300ml had drained into the bag by the time I left last night.

This infected blood will be checked in the lab, and a culture grown, for them to kill with antibiotics, and find the perfect antibiotic for this infection.
If all goes well, then hopefully she can be out of hospital by the weekend or sooner.

Brilliant news - Elizabeth is home!
She's been home about 15 mins, so just given her a cup of tea, and now ringing round people, etc.

She's still on the antibiotics, etc, but the blood counts are all good now, and she's well.

Massive thanks to everyone who has phoned, emailed, messaged, posted, commented - true strength friends!!!!
