As for my guys I have some talent but it will take atleast 12 months to nuture them into compititive novice pullers

| i thought the rules where you can enter the novice util you come 1st, its what ive been training for i cant help if my training helps beat a few pro's. so ill be at the novice as i still am one. | |

| i agree with phil, neil said last year on here that you can enter the british novice unless you've won it, then you can't enter again and i guess you become "pro". Steve harris got 2x 3rds in brits 2010 (i was 4th) then entered the british novice 2010 later on and won both arms. | |

| I am not sure about that as I don't no of any set rules, but if that's the case then knowles, clay, henderson, shaw, mitchell, wikson, ginge, sowah, burnell, sanders, greaves, and I don't no how many more who didn't win british novice could still in theory pull?but yet most have a natiobal title medal or mnore so were does the line get drawn ??? | |

| True Leon, I beat 12 competitors in Northwest novice but some novices there from all parts of britain at that time, Paul Mitchell did same and also won champion of champions. Although as for myself at moment my level is under par but I'm not phased with having a go and pulling any wrestlers win or lose, but then I feel theres a few pullers out there who after winning alot and being at the top if they werent 100% then they wouldnt have a go cos theyd be to vain, egotistical, arogant Maybe my words arnt put together to good but I think winning to much could be a weakness in its own way. Maybe the trouble is theres alot of different levels in each weight group pro and novice. ? | |

As for my guys I have some talent but it will take atleast 12 months to nuture them into compititive novice pullers I am with you here Paul, this is what i've been saying for a long time, As far as i'm concerned if you have pulled comps consistently, trained for years or placed in the medals at open class, you are not a novice. If it were the case that you have to finish first in a novice comp, then i am still a novice, also does that mean that you can finish second for 10 years and still be regarded as a novice?

| The word "Novice" means your New to it.... it doesnt state how good you are... Phils new however you look at it... it would put quite a few off to throw them straight into the pros just because they happen to be good at it.. You gota give the boys a chance... I know he beat Ted and Chris, but got beat by Steve harris last time. Sure he can compete with the big guns, but hes very new..
I think neils on the mark with win novice, move to pro... or if you feel you can deal with it then make the choice yourself to step up when your confident enough..
WOTEVERRRRRRRRR
Just my opinion... nothing else.

| Nobody is making it a witch hunt on Phil he's just a great example but how long do you have to be in the sport before you are considered to be in it long enough to be pro? GLORY HUNTING | |

| to avoid any more repetition on this we obviously need firm rules differentiating between novice and pro pullers. Atm what we have was neil saying last year (after some people objected to wayne pulling the novice) that if you havent won the british novice you can enter it so thats the rule i've worked under.
If i'd thought entering the brits or nyc would rule me out of doing the british novice again i'd have given those comps a miss as id like to win the british novice then turn pro. But i'm up for pulling anyone so i entered those comps anyway for the experience.

| Ever one as a point , as for phil , yes he as beat a few good pullers , and until he stops pulling novice , he will still be classes as a novice .
so like dean says let him make the call , think i pulled like 2 novice comps and did shit then wanted to pull pro , so i did and i never entered a novice comp since i made that decision.

GLORY HUNTING i agree here i think its based on how well you perform , whats the point in pulling novices if you can beat them all , you may aswell step up to the next level
