| I remember in 1987 when i was just a whipper snapper, ( ) that there was a nationwide armwrestling competition where regional heats were held, an entry fee was taken and 1000 pounds prize money was offered to the eventual winner... Novices, pro,s and everybody took part... id love to see that again !!! | |

| We DO !!! Armwrestling does have money prizes & has everybody forgotten about having the opportunity to win a Quad Bike (I bet Steve Rogers hasn't) & a "GRAPPLER" worth £2,500 (I bet Stuart Hall hasn't) BUT the cold hard fact is that IF ya wanna win Money then something has to finance it plus a lot of the lads on the circuit these days don't really wanna know in the Elite Money events.........I KNOW CAUSE I ATTEND 99% OF THEM | |

| Also the fact is that for the Athletes currently appearing on the ARM WARS SUPER SERIES events they have BY FAR the biggest sustainable opportunity to gain significant sponsors in the History of the Sport. When Opportunity Knocks it up to each and every one of us to choose whether or not we answer the Door. If you guys get sponsors, I will schedule your matches with you tell you where and when you will be on the shows and give you advise about how to propose things to your potential sponsors. Michael has got himself a sponsor paying $1,000 per month based on the fact that he will be appearing on a certain amount of Eurosport Shows a year and endorsing their Brand BUT he is very much an "Up off of his Ass" sponsor chasing kinda guy Each man on the series has the opportunity if they care to develop it

| Hmmmm, interesting. sponsorship, getting off our asses and grabbing the bull by the horns as it were. Well, like we've already discussed Neil i am new to the sport and would relish the opportunity to learn ALL aspects of the sport including what goes on behind closed doors. I have to rely on the experience of all the people who've been involved in it for years, and were there's experience, there's opinion. Ahhhh and thank you Paul i was referring to the british circuit. I know i can only speak for myself but if i have to train with blood sweat and skin, i would prefer my recompence in cash. If Steve Rogers wants to spend his time racing around the fields on a quad then thats his business, each to their own. I may be articulate when i choose but i am more at home when being frank and where i come from money talks, bull s..............we'll, you know the rest. |

| I am RIGHT THERE with you on the Prize money events thing though Oh "GOD OF WAR" ££££ makes sense to most people and I LOVE to Armwrestle in Prize money events as much as the next man, I would love it EVEN MORE here in the UK as I'd have a really strong chance at my weight & maybe even in the Overall on both Arms with a little bit of a tune up of course | |

| Something like that mate, thanks for clarifying the earlier point too. Money is certainly important but the opportunity for athletes to support themselves in the sport year round via sponsorship deals linked to their appearances on the show is significantly greater than for them to do so via a top 3 placing in any of the largest events on the World circuit. Key Factors for athletes approaching Sponsors = Pan European TV (64 Countries) Weekly airing in Primetime slot (26 minutes each week) Plus Repeats. Potential Audience of 230 Million Viewers weekly. Europe's Largest FREE TO VIEW Sports Channel (Therefore also available in Bars, Hotel Rooms etc.) Each time an athlete is in a show they will be a feature of that show. Static Nature of the sport means that sponsors logo's are constantly in shot. Shedule of Events available Additional yield for Sponsors due to the Magnitude of footfall in the Venues where the events are a major live feature (focus on stage for 6 - 8 hrs each day x 2 Days) ARM WARS SUPERSERIES EVENTS IN 2010DISNEYLAND / PARIS, FRANCE / FEB FIBO EXPO / ESSEN, GERMANY / APRIL SENI COMBAT SPORTS SHOW / EXCEL CENTRE, LONDON ENGLAND / MAY THE TRAFFORD CENTRE / MANCHESTER, ENGLAND / JUL SCINTILLATE VIP BEACH RESORT / MARBELLA, SPAIN / AUG THE LAKESIDE CENTRE / ESSEX, ENGLAND / OCT MANDALAY BAY HOTEL & CASINO / LAS VEGAS, U.S.A. / DEC These details should be of assistance for those athletes who are to be involved in the ARM WARS Super Series Events on Eurosport when approaching potential Sponsors (this may be done individually or as a group of athletes) | |

| Hello Neil, does this mean that we would be able to wear our own sponsord shirt to compete or will space be made available on the event shirt to place sponsor graphics? I ask this as i would like to be able to approach pottential sponsors with the offer of prime logo exposure on the arm/ chest/ back of shirt as well as with the reasons you mentioned above. Cheers Dan | |

That is true and it was appreciated by all not just the guys who won the prizes..... but since then to the start of eurosport threw no fault of your own or anybody elses there hasnt been any pennies to play for, apart from ginges comp:D it has been difficult to approach sponsors,to pay for cash prizes or even to fund the cost of my whey protein and i have tried unsucessfully more than once but i have to say even though money would be nice,i play to be the best its the drive of winning putting on a show and the constant battle against myself that i enjoy the most Eurosports is a way to be able to fund yourself by gaining the sponsors that the opputunity has given you, even if it doesnt directly feed your pockets, and remember the showman earns more than the champ and you will see the PIMP again | |

| No problem mate, maybe i should continue to be more articulate and less frank. It's the glaswegian mentality. You've obviously gained a lot of experience over the years. What advice would you give to those who intend to approach sponsors? Clearly this is not as easy as some may think. If someone like the 'Mighty Paul Maiden', who will 'without a shadow of a doubt' :lol:will go down in history as one of the greatest british A.W. of all time, has ran into a brick wall in this area. |
